What We Collect
We designed this site to avoid collecting personal information. Specifically:
- No cookies or trackers: We do not set cookies, use analytics, or run third-party advertising pixels.
- Server security logs (minimal): Like most websites, our hosting environment may generate transient security logs (e.g., IP address, user agent, timestamps) to operate and protect the service. We do not use these logs to identify visitors and they are automatically rotated and deleted on a short schedule.
- Email correspondence: If you email us, we will receive your email address and any information you provide in your message.
Purpose & Lawful Basis
- Responding to inquiries: To read, store, and respond to emails you send us (legitimate interests and/or your consent).
- Operating and securing the site: To maintain availability and detect or prevent abuse (legitimate interests).
Retention
- Email: Kept only as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for reasonable recordkeeping, then deleted or archived securely.
- Security logs: Retained briefly and automatically rotated by our hosting provider for operational security.
Cross-Border Transfers
Our email or hosting providers may process information in data centres outside South Africa. Where applicable, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protection in line with POPIA (for example, by using reputable providers with suitable safeguards).
Your POPIA Rights
Under POPIA, you may have the right to: (a) request access to the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction or deletion; (c) object to or restrict processing; and (d) withdraw consent where processing relies on it. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@daltoncollective.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa): inforegulator.org.za/complaints or POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.
Children
Our site is not directed at children and we do not intentionally collect personal information about children.
